A Story We Never Hear

Dear Five O'Clock Friends,

In nursery school and at birthday parties kids in my day played a game--a category game.  Five to seven things would be spread out and we kids had to figure out the connection/s among them.  Here goes:

1.  THE BAPTISMAL COVENANT

2.

3.  THE PARABLE KNOWN AS "THE PARABLE OF LAZURUS AND DIVES"  (Here's a little part of it:    The way Jesus tells the story, there was a rich man who lived high on the hog.  He had all he needed and more.  There was a beggar named Lazurus who lived by the gates of the rich man's house.  The beggar lived on the crumbs he scavenged.  His body was filled with sores that the dogs licked.  One day, the beggar died.  He went to heaven where he was loved and treated tenderly.  The rich man also died. He went to hell where his torment was great.)

5.  The seen and unseen in our lives

6.  An elementary school classroom in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Come to Live at Five this Sunday.  Hear a story folks at St. Michael's never hear.  Discover the connections among the items above and the connections made around the communion table and stay for the Pot Luck afterwards.  Maybe even make some new connections.

In gratitude for all of you and all that binds us together in love,

Susan+
