Praise theLord!
Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the faithful.
Let Israel be glad in its Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.
Let them praise his name with dancing,
making melody to him with tambourine and lyre.
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with victory.
Let the faithful exult in glory
let them sing for joy on their couches.
Let the high praises of God be in their throats
and two-edged swords in their hands,
to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishment on the peoples,
to bind their kings with fetters
and their nobles with chains of iron,
to execute on them the judgment decreed.
This is glory for all his faithful ones.
Praise theLord!
Psalm 149
"Praise the Lord!
Sing a new song to the Lord;
praise him in the assembly of
his faithful people!"
It is fun to praise the Lord.
You can pray on your bed with your hands together,
or jumping on the floor,
or kneeling next to your bed.
Sometimes in Godly Play we dance
while we sing our favorite song:
"The King of glory comes
the nation rejoices.
Open the gates before Him
lift up your voices."
One time last year we sang it 7 times in a row,
because Tommy loves that song so much,
and it made us so happy.
Why do we sometimes get sad during Lent?
Maybe someone died around Christmas,
or maybe we are sad because
we know Jesus died.
But you can feel glad you didn't die,
or you can share your feelings with your Mom,
your sister or brother,
or with God!
Or go do something.
Or you can sing your favorite praise song 11 times,
like we did today.
Some of us danced, too.
Praise the Lord!
