Joshua 24:15 and 1 Peter 4:8-10 and John 13:1-7
I love chocolate.
I love 60’s rock.
How often do we use the word “love” without thinking about it? Do we really understand what “love” means? I am sure it means different things to each of us. Should it? My scripture verses make it clear that love is something we should share and love God and serve others. We should give to others from what we have.
This week my daughter-in-law donated a kidney to a friend. I am not sure will ever look at love and service in the same way. What greater way to share love and serve God? I asked my son why they did this, because they have three children. What if something was to go wrong? He said they simply put themselves in their friend’s place. Ginny thought it was something she could and should do. How can I ever show such love in my life? Probably nothing this dramatic will happen in my life. How can I live up to Ginny’s love and service to others? I will just have to make a point to love and give whatever and whenever I can. That is what God asks of us.
