2016 ARTS MERCADO
Our 2016 Mercado featured parish artists and authors and was a great success. We look forward to next year's event.
Liturgical Arts / Flower Guild
The Liturgical Arts Guild provides an environment in which spiritual growth through prayer and worship can occur. For those participating in the guild, it offers opportunities for fellowship; the study of scripture, the church year, and the meaning of major feast days and seasons; and their expression in non-verbal means. The primary purpose is to enhance worship; the secondary purpose is to encourage and support creative expressions of the messages of our faith. Flowers for the church are supplied through donations from parishioners and arranged by the Flower Guild. To make a dedication or donation please fill out a form in the Parish Hall.
Icon & Pysanki Guild
Second Saturday of the Month at 9 am in the Parish Hall
A collection of icons written by Sue Ellen Rael is currently on exhibit in the Galería
The studio provides an opportunity for spiritual growth through fellowship and study. The studio is an outgrowth of the series of classes in iconography begun about 10 years ago at St. Michael’s, and now shared with other parishes. Those who have continued in their iconography gather regularly to work on icons and to share advice and information. About 3 years ago, after some classes in pysanki (egg decorating) were offered to St. Michael’s, we recognized that those who are drawn to this craft would benefit from a regular opportunity to practice and improve their skills.
